The crew of Philtered.Net come from a variety of disciplines, ranging from end-user application programming to media to hardware development. A common thread through the PdN group is an interest in wireless communications. In cooperation with the L0pht's Guerilla.Net project, Philtered.Net is advancing the practice of low cost digital communications in the Philadelphia area.

The first step seems to be the lowest cost, and yet the most beneficial. The majority of the PdN developers are going to hold amateur radio licenses, which allows for a legal outlet for our experimentation activities. Currently, five members of the group hold at least a Technician class license, with a sixth taking his tests shortly.
